Chris Winspear

Chris Winspear is the Grand Prize winner of the Writers of the Future Contest 2020.

He currently works as a Narrative Designer at 11-bit Studios, Warsaw, creating the narrative for Frostpunk 2.

Before turning his hand to science fiction, Chris wrote literary short fiction and poetry for the local market in Australia under the name Christopher D. McDonald. He also founded and ran a 3D Printing and design workshop, Manifester 3D.

He has attained a Masters of Creative Writing from UTS, Sydney. His short stories The Market and No More Piano Lessons have earned literary prizes from the PCWC and the Rhonda Jankovic Literary Awards, and his fortune-telling adventure The Lightreaders (think Indiana Jones with Tarot cards) won the under 30s Varuna fellowship from Writing NSW.

His saucy high fantasy novel Nights under the Sun has successfully completed a kickstarter campaign and is due to be published later this year.

Yes, he is Chris the writer from Farmer Wants a Wife in Farmer Paige’s group, but alas he married no farmer.
